L.A. (part two)

For the rest of our time in L.A., we had lunch at Lucques, which was amazing.  It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Brown & Blue

{Jacket: Michael Kors (old from Nordstrom Rack, similar here), Sweater: H&M (similar here and here and here), Tee: Gap, Scarf: scarf shop, Jeans: Joe's (old from Nordstrom Rack, similar here), Boots: J. Crew (old, similar here), Purse: J. Crew (old, similar here), Gloves: Target, Sunglasses: Michael Kors}

A warm outfit to walk to a weekend brunch with Steph and Chad a couple of weeks ago, with some silly posing.

Winter brights

{Sweatshirt: Target (old, similar here), T-shirt: J. Crew, Jeans: Target (old, similar here), Boots: Target (old, similar here), Scarf: Fuchsia (old, similar here), Purse: J. Crew (or available on eBay), Sunglasses: Michael Kors}

Often in the winter I find myself wearing all black, or all gray (as above), so sometimes it's nice to throw in a brightly colored accessory or piece, to keep it all from getting too boring.  I was also excited to model some of my Christmas presents, this amazing purse from Stephanie and the killer sunglasses from Megan (even indoors).

{Pants: J. Crew; Blouse: J. Crew; Belt: J. Crew (old, similar to this); Pumps: Guess; Jewelry: H&M, Michael Kors, J. Crew}

Just a quick work outfit, with tan and gold accessories. I felt like keeping the accessories neutral evened out the crazy (for me) color pairing.

Gray Study

{Cardigan: Halogen, similar to this; Stripe tee and tank: J. Crew, similar to this and this; Belt: Target; Pants: J. Crew; Boots: J. Crew; Jewelry: Michael Kors, Bauble Bar, & Harlow, from this line, bought here.}

Just some quick outfit photos today, pretty standard work wear: pants, shirt, & cardigan. My aunt is really talented at monochromatic dressing, so inspired by her I've been trying it. I used to think everything had to match, but the beauty of an all gray outfit is that they don't all have to be the same color gray, but it still pulls together.

Black & Brown

I'm still working out my camera issues, so please excuse the sad, sad, reflection camera photos.

{Sweater: JustSweet, from Pin Me Apparel, Shirt: J. Crew, Pants: Gap (old), Boots: J. Crew, Necklace: Christmas gift, I think from Nordstrom Rack, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: J. Crew (old), Purse: Longchamp 'Le Pliage' in graphite, Jacket: Mountain Hardware 'Monkey Woman' in Jewel Blue}

I've been loving these new J. Crew boots, but my default work outfit is usually all black. I've also been wanting to wear this new necklace my mom gave me for Christmas, and so thought I'd see if I could pull off an black and brown outfit, albeit with a pop of bright blue in my favorite jacket. Do you think black and brown work together?

Polka dots & cap toe pumps

Those Zara pumps and a new Equipment blouse showed up in the mail, and I wore roughly the following outfit to work and then out to dinner and a concert on Wednesday night.

It's been getting dark at around 4:30 pm here, so I haven't managed to get a picture of any outfits yet, but hopefully there will be some time for that over the weekend, during the daylight hours.

I wore the blouse with my J.Crew wool capris from a couple years ago, kind of like these, but the Alexander Wang capris were the closest thing available on Polyvore. Also, I wore a lovely pair of earring by a local Portland jewelry artist, Lulu, kind of like these, but with black stones instead of turquoise or pearl.

The blouse is so oversized, I felt like I needed the skinny capris to offset the silhouette. What else would you pair with it?
