Style Spotlight: Solange Knowles

While she wears some totally crazy stuff, I have always been inspired by the fearless dressing of Solange Knowles.  She doesn't shy away from bright colors or from mixing patterns and/or colors that might not be an intuitive match.

With that said, I think her look is a lot more approachable in the new Madewell Fall 2012 ad campaign.

While this is fairly simple, she looks flawless in this white gown.

I don't know that everyone can pull off yellow the way Solange can, but she looks great in a range of head-to-toe yellows.

I love this jacket on her.  It's totally crazy, but she manages to keep the rest of her look fairly simple in order to keep the outfit from being totally overwhelming.

All of these looks below, save maybe the printed skirt suit, are ones that could translate fairly easily into an everyday wardrobe.  There's an ease to her dressing, and some pretty great heels.

I love this look, even if the skirt is mighty short.  Black and gold is such a classic pairing

I think she looks great throughout this entire editorial.  While some of the pieces are still a lot, like those shoes, in general I think they are much more accessible looks.  You can click through to Red Carpet Fashion Awards to see the entire spread.
