A warm outfit for a cold winter day, with the added interest of a red coat, red lips, and leopard print shift.
Some poor lighting, but I wanted to share an outfit entirely inspired by pieces I've seen Steph wear and then went out and bought. Thanks Steph! Also, a good chance to wear my new jacket, that's currently on sale - hurry, before they run out of your size!

Often in the winter I find myself wearing all black, or all gray (as above), so sometimes it's nice to throw in a brightly colored accessory or piece, to keep it all from getting too boring. I was also excited to model some of my Christmas presents, this amazing purse from Stephanie and the killer sunglasses from Megan (even indoors).

In the move I went from a double closet down to a single closet, and so knew I was going to have to downsize. It all took longer than expected, and so after purging and getting rid of half of my closet, I loaded up my car but didn't have time to make a Goodwill/Buffalo Exchange run before I was meant to meet some lady friends. When they heard I had a car full of clothes I was trying to sell/donate, we decided it only made sense for them to shop through my closet and drink fancy champagne while I got to hold the baby. It was so much fun, and I ended up with a shirt too!

It was raining like crazy, so I opted for indoor pictures near my CDR Umbrella print, with (oops) my slip showing. Stay classy San Diego.
The lap top is back up and running and better than ever! Wahoo Apple Genius Bar.
I also couldn't help but reference Portlandia in the post title, especially because I bought this skirt at a cute little Portland boutique up on N. Mississippi called Pin Me Apparel.
I got a new pair of short brown boots during J. Crew's before-Christmas sale (hello extra 30% off) and am wearing them today with tights and a short skirt. I've previously worn both tall boots and booties with tights and skirts, but I'm not sure if I think I can pull off the short boots with tights.
What do you think, does it work, or does it make my calves look huge? Can I only pull it off with a pair of boots with a heel? There are some other examples of it on various blogs, like here, here, here, and here.
